Value Management Deficiency SyndromeEvery indivudual, organization and nation has a value system at any point of time. Our beliefs, convictions and sets of do's and do'nts from childhood are imbedded deeply within. They say "nothing succeeds like success". When we say" yes" to this adage, we tend to overlook the damage done to our value systems imbedded in us as individuals, organizations or nations enroute to success. Success is always temporary. There is always a chance of a personified "bandaged value" knocking on the door demanding redressal. Neglect for too long has cumulative effect of a drag. One has to therefore continously nurture the values which stoodby during the arduous journey to success.
Very often there is a breach of the value system to get the results any how. Individually and organizationally, there has to be an early warning system to alert about possible consequences to save "post success blues".
A large number of organizations suffer from ailment I call "Value Management Deficiency Syndrome". They fail to identify, monitor the status and prevent slippages of certain core values of decision makers in the organization. While success becomes a habit, so does addition of some "virus" to kill the organization. It is slow process. But once the critical mass is reached it is difficult to prevent damages to the business and stakeholders. Unless urgent attention is paid, it becomes too late to call the doctor. Micro, Small and Medium enterprises must take care that they do not get afflicted with VMD Syndrome.
Each organization can create a early warning alert system to monitor the health of the key parameters to that there is no deficiency in managing the values.
